The Mayan Calender Fact or Fiction

Ok, so I think the whole Mayan calender saying the world is going to end is a big hoax being pulled by a secret society that thinks they might be able to profit from the madness. I mean, look at it, it's just a flipping rock, where on it does it say the world is going to end...nowhere, so I don't know you tell me is it fact or fiction, looks like one big lie to me

  1. The fact is, even if the world were "to end" it is not in the armageddon fashion that the world is purporting that "it will". In fact, the translation has 2 different routes, both of them involving prime numbers of the mayans. the one route ends on Dec. 21 2012. The other though stretches thousands of years into the future. Many believe the shorthand to be correct as it happens to fall under the 5th "cycle (forgot the actual term)". After this 5th "cycle" there is suppose to be an end to the old world completely, which in reality was believed to be "a new beginning" when the old world ended, NOT the worlds destruction. I try to keep an abject opinion on all things conspiracy, this is one of many. If it's true, we CANNOT stop it, so there is no point in arguing.

  5. It's not the fact that the calendar ends, it's that it ends so abruptly without finishing off the year. Maybe somebody got lazy? I mean, lazy people have ALWAYS existed.

  6. I read recently that scientists think they may have been off on the date by about 50 or so years, and that the world already ended. Y2K all over again. Should be interesting to see what happens on the big day!

  7. i dont think the world is going to end, i think people got it wrong, when the mayan calender ends it starts from top again, so maybe the 2012 instead of the end of the world its just the end of this Era and we'll start something different, and i dont think it being just a rock says anything, natives made things way ahead of their time that are still a mistery to us
